Catering Coordinator

Introducing Blackburn Youth Zone

Blackburn Youth Zone is a state of the art youth club facility located at the heart of Blackburn open to young people aged 5 to 19 years old, and up to 25 with disabilities.We’re open 365 days a year, 7 days a week and offer over up to 20 activities each evening. Best of all, entry is just 50p per visit.

Who We Are

Our work is only possible because of the dedicated team that make up Blackburn Youth Zone. From staff, volunteers and the board, to patrons, supporters and parents. Together, we want to make sure that all young people have somewhere to go, something to do and someone to talk to.

Main Purpose

In partnership with our members establish and deliver a healthy, creative, cost effective and nutritious food offer for all our members, 7 days per week, 365 evenings per year and 13 weeks of holiday club. To consult with children and young people around the catering/ snack  offer and menus.

To be responsible for the day to day running of the catering operation and services at Blackburn Youth Zone. Organise and complete weekly stock audits,  stock rotation and Stock replenishment to ensure the kitchen is able to produce the best quality food and snack offer. Ensure the kitchen and servery is of high standards of hygiene in line with legislation. Ensure excellent customer satisfaction.

Youth & Child Development Worker

Main Purpose

To be accountable and responsible for the planning and delivery of specific child development and youth work programmes and services at Blackburn Youth Zone.

To enable children and young people to experience and contribute to the child development and youth work  programme, ensuring it is relevant,  fun, inclusive, safe, social and educational incorporating Arts, Sports and Youth Work / Play Work activities.

Successful candidates for this role will be enthusiastic, committed and innovative in their approach to delivering sessions that make every night better than the last

Dance Youth Worker

Main Purpose

To deliver an exciting, engaging dance programme to children and young people that will challenge, stimulate and provide new opportunities for young people who attend open access youth work activity, in line with the Youth Club strategic Operational Plan.  In addition, to also work closely with the Gym & Movement Co-ordinator to develop a diverse dance programme to meet the needs of the young people aged 8-18 years (up to 25 for disabled young people)
