Introducing Blackburn Youth Zone

Blackburn Youth Zone is an iconic, state-of-the-art facility for young people in the heart of Blackburn which opened in June 2012. Attracting young people from across the town and beyond by its fantastic facilities, Blackburn Youth Zone provides sports and arts activities and practical support, especially for those who are disadvantaged.  

The three-storey building has a dedicated sports halls with a climbing wall, gym, boxing ring, dance and performing arts spaces and as well as visual arts facilities. Also included are a cafe, games and social areas and an outdoor all-weather pitch on the roof. The centre is open 365 days a year.

Who We Are

Our work is only possible because of the dedicated team that makeup Blackburn Youth Zone. From staff, volunteers and the board, to patrons, supporters and parents. Together, we want to make sure that all young people have somewhere to go, something to do and someone to talk to.

Main Purpose

Blackburn Youth Zone is seeking a highly motivated Finance and Administration Assistant to support the Business Administration Manager and the wider team; ensuring that the administration and finance function is run efficiently to support the day to day running of the youth zone.

Dance Youth Worker

Introducing Blackburn Youth Zone

Blackburn Youth Zone is a state of the art youth club facility located at the heart of Blackburn open to young people aged 5 to 19 years old, and up to 25 with disabilities.We’re open 365 days a year, 7 days a week and offer over up to 20 activities each evening. Best of all, entry is just 50p per visit.

Who We Are

Our work is only possible because of the dedicated team that make up Blackburn Youth Zone. From staff, volunteers and the board, to patrons, supporters and parents. Together, we want to make sure that all young people have somewhere to go, something to do and someone to talk to.

Main Purpose

To deliver an exciting, engaging dance programme to children and young people that will challenge, stimulate and provide new opportunities for young people who attend open access youth work activity, in line with the Youth Club strategic Operational Plan.  In addition, to also work closely with the Gym & Movement Co-ordinator to develop a diverse dance programme to meet the needs of the young people aged 8-18 years (up to 25 for disabled young people)

Child & Youth Support Worker

To work with children and young people aged 5 – 19 (up to 25 for those with additional needs) in the delivery of an exceptional inclusive play work / youth work offer maximising the outcomes for BYZ members
