Introducing Blackburn Youth Zone

Blackburn Youth Zone is a state of the art youth club facility located at the heart of Blackburn open to young people aged 5 to 19 years old, and up to 25 with disabilities.We’re open 365 days a year, 7 days a week and offer over up to 20 activities each evening. Best of all, entry is just 50p per visit.

Who We Are

Our work is only possible because of the dedicated team that make up Blackburn Youth Zone. From staff, volunteers and the board, to patrons, supporters and parents. Together, we want to make sure that all young people have somewhere to go, something to do and someone to talk to.

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for a  positive, passionate, flexible and energised Youth Work Coordinator to be part of a strong leadership team whose mission is to engage and inspire all young people across Blackburn with Darwen.

Main Purpose

We are looking for a  Youth Work Co-ordinator to lead Blackburn Youth Zone Youth Work offer, developing an exciting programme that engages and inspires young people across  Blackburn with Darwen area.

We expect all staff to be familiar with and incorporate:

  • UN Convention on the Rights of the Child/ Disabled Child
  • Youth Work National Occupational Standards
  • Working together to safeguard young people

In accordance with our Child Protection and Safeguarding procedures, this position requires an enhanced DBS check.

Part Time Receptionist

We are looking for someone that is interested in helping young people access positive activites and a place to go within the borough and who is welcoming, helpful and approachable.

Main Purpose

We are looking for a  Receptionist who will be the first point of contact to members, visitors and the general public.

Marketing & Communication Coordinator

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for a Marketing & Communication Coordinator to develop, implement and report against a communications and marketing plan to support Blackburn Youth Zone’s  business objectives. Supporting colleagues to identify and engage with a range of stakeholders, you will be responsible for developing and managing all communications and marketing infrastructure and activities within Blackburn Youth Zone.   

Main Purpose

Managing and maintaining the Youth Zone website, intranet and social media outlets will play a key part in the role, along with more traditional methods such as print and media relations. All Youth Zone communications will reflect our ambition to be a world-class facility for young people and help raise our profile amongst  the wider local community.

We expect all staff to be familiar with and incorporate:
