Dance Youth Worker

Introducing Blackburn Youth Zone

Blackburn Youth Zone is a state of the art youth club facility located at the heart of Blackburn open to young people aged 5 to 19 years old, and up to 25 with disabilities.We’re open 365 days a year, 7 days a week and offer over up to 20 activities each evening. Best of all, entry is just 50p per visit.

Who We Are

Our work is only possible because of the dedicated team that make up Blackburn Youth Zone. From staff, volunteers and the board, to patrons, supporters and parents. Together, we want to make sure that all young people have somewhere to go, something to do and someone to talk to.

Main Purpose

To deliver an exciting, engaging dance programme to children and young people that will challenge, stimulate and provide new opportunities for young people who attend open access youth work activity, in line with the Youth Club strategic Operational Plan.  In addition, to also work closely with the Gym & Movement Co-ordinator to develop a diverse dance programme to meet the needs of the young people aged 8-18 years (up to 25 for disabled young people)

Child & Youth Support Worker

To work with children and young people aged 5 – 19 (up to 25 for those with additional needs) in the delivery of an exceptional inclusive play work / youth work offer maximising the outcomes for BYZ members

Digital Design Worker (6 month contract)

Main Purpose

The ideal candidate will create and deliver a varied programme of digital design subjects as part of the universal, open access programme for BYZ members. Developing children and young people’s interests, confidence and skills in a wide variety of digital design areas such as gaming, coding, animation, illustration, videography, art, jewellery, product and fashion design through participation. Support and train the wider team in any new equipment/ technology building their capacity and knowledge around the subject. A key element of this role is to work with our existing Patrons to utilise their expertise in the design to educate young people through trying new activities.
