Blackburn Chemicals, has become the latest ‘Patron’ of Blackburn Youth Zone, a youth charity raising aspirations and changing lives of thousands of young people who call Blackburn their home.
Blackburn Chemicals, are renowned worldwide for providing high performance Foam Control Agents to a diverse range of industries. And was inspired to support Blackburn Youth Zone after learning more about how the charity continued to provide much needed support to young people through a global pandemic.
Blackburn Youth Zone supports children and young people aged 5 to 19, and up to 21 for young people with a disability. The charity encourages young people to the best they can be, by providing enriching activities, unique experiences and support services to all. Meaning all young people regardless of their background and circumstance have the support available to meet their full potential.
Andrew Graham MBE, Founder of Blackburn Youth Zone and CEO of Graham and Brown said:
“As a charity, we rely on the support of our business community to help us provide much needed support for our young people, which following the pandemic is more important now than ever. Without the financial support of our patrons like ‘Blackburn Chemicals’ we would not be able to support young people to become the best they can be. Welcome to the network Blackburn Chemicals.”
During the pandemic Blackburn Youth Zone has been able to quickly adapt its services focusing on reaching young people at home, by delivering food parcels, delivering online activities and doing one to one support for the most vulnerable BYZ members.
Support from local businesses and individuals is crucial to the ongoing success of Blackburn Youth Zone. In order to provide the support that young people deserve, Blackburn Youth Zone needs to raise a minimum of £1million every year – 50% of this comes from fundraising, including support from local businesses, known as Patrons.
John Covill, Managing Director of Blackburn Chemicals said:
“This donation is from all of us at Blackburn Chemicals as a token of appreciation for the great work you do to benefit our local community.”
