John Lewis Partnership Foundation Renews Support for Blackburn & Darwen Youth Zone with Two-Year £60,000 Employability Fund Grant

Blackburn & Darwen Youth Zone, a dedicated charity committed to helping young people achieve their full potential, is proud to announce a renewed partnership with the John Lewis Partnership Foundation. Through the Foundation’s Employability Fund – and in collaboration with local John Lewis textile factory, Herbert Parkinson – Blackburn & Darwen Youth Zone has secured a two-year grant totalling £120,000.

This continued support underlines the shared commitment to enhancing youth employability and addressing social inequality in the Darwen area. The funding will further empower the Youth Zone’s dedicated employability programmes, which are designed to support young people from disadvantaged backgrounds by equipping them with the skills, confidence, and opportunities they need to progress into employment, education or training.

The Employability Fund grant will help Blackburn & Darwen Youth Zone’s Youth Hub, the organisation’s specialist employability department, to provide one-to-one mentoring, job-readiness training, World of Work tours, and career development support. By meeting young people where they are and guiding them toward their future goals, the Youth Hub has already helped many local young people break down barriers to employment.
