Today, we share an important update from Blackburn & Darwen Youth Zone.

After careful consideration, our Chair, Wayne Wild MBE, has decided to step down from his role.

Wayne has played a pivotal role in shaping the Youth Zone into the thriving, flagship organisation that creates real-life-changing opportunities for over 5,000 young people.

Wayne’s ‘can-do’ approach and unwavering commitment to our purpose have led to some incredible achievements. Most notably,

🔸Delivering a new £5m Youth Zone to Darwen
🔸Delivering a new £3m learning and youth employment centre
🔸Increasing our patron programme by 52%
🔸Driving our stewardship programme to be best in class
🔸Achieving record attendances with young people, now engaging a staggering 1,638 young people per week

We are incredibly grateful for his leadership, passion and commitment to young people across Blackburn and Darwen.

While stepping down as Chair, we’re delighted that Wayne will continue to support the Youth Zone as an ambassador – championing our work and serving as our biggest ally- and will continue his efforts as an advisor in supporting the next phase of our exciting plans for the future.

With a strong Board, dedicated team and the continued support of our amazing Patron community, the future of Blackburn & Darwen Youth Zone is bright.

Thank you, Wayne, for everything 🧡
