JDS Trucks becomes a Patron and pledge their support to invest in the next generation

Established in 1965,  Blackburn Based award-winning JDS Trucks & Vans is one of the UK’s largest Renault Truck & Van dealerships. With three branches in the North West, they put their customers first by working together as partners, building lifelong relationships and providing first-class service throughout a vehicle’s lifetime.

Blackburn & Darwen Youth Zone is rooted across the borough and operates from Blackburn & Darwen town centres. The Youth Zone  enables all young people aged 5- 19 to come together, meet new people, and participate in developmental activities. Over the last 12 months Youth Zone supported young people with their skills and aspirations and with help from their growing patron network have placed 147 young people into jobs.

Over the past decade, Blackburn & Darwen Youth Zone has supported over 18,000 young people, had 387,625 visits through their doors, raised just under £20 million and had a staggering 107,543 volunteering hours to support their mission. We are open 7 days per week in Blackburn & Darwen with over 20 activities per night within both sites.

Hannah Allen, Blackburn & Darwen Youth Zone CEO, said:

“We are proud to welcome JDS Trucks to our Patron network.  Blackburn & Darwen Patrons are businesses that collectively share the same vision and invest in the town’s next generation. It couldn’t be more urgent to invest in young people, especially through the cost of living crisis. Without the support from the local business community, we would not be able to open our doors 7 days a week across Blackburn and Darwen sites and support thousands of young people.”

Mark Gritthis, Director of JDS Trucks, said:

We’re delighted to have become a Patron of such an inspiring local charity. It’s not just a place for young people to take part in activities; it’s a place that impacts and changes the lives of both young people and the families they work with. Having seen the impact first-hand, we couldn’t be prouder to give back to our local community and support Blackburn & Darwen Youth Zone to improve the lives of thousands of local young people.”
