Northcote apprentices raise £1100 for good causes

Hospitality stars of the future give charities a slice of help. A group of promising apprentices who organised evenings at Café Northcote raised over £1,000 for three local causes.

Earlier this year Café Northcote handed over the controls to apprentices to showcase their talents as they developed their own menus for the six gastronomic evenings. The ‘Taste of the Future’ nights was named by the apprentices as they worked on all aspects of the events, from menus to marketing.

Each one had a charity close to them that they wanted to support and a donation from every ticket sold went to those charities.

Blackburn Youth Zone received £387.50, Blackburn Night Safe were £325.00 better off and £387.50 was raised for BKs Heroes.

Café Manager Lucy Parker said the evenings were a great success. “To see so many diners supporting the apprentices while raising funds for charity was fantastic. The evenings ran really well which is a credit to those who worked hard on them. We’re looking forward to hosting more Taste of the Future night later in the year.”

Future event details will be on cafenorthcote.com and on the Café’s Facebook page.

From everyone here at Blackburn Youth Zone, THANK YOU!
